Protecting yourself from mobile phone radiation can be quite an issue, especially when you’re carrying the phone on you or in your bag.

Mobile phones can output a huge amount of radiation, and you don’t want that going into your head or body.  So, you can use earphones, which is a help for listening, but not for carrying it.

Some people have asked me about those little stickers, pendants and other items designed to “harmonise” the electromagnetic fields or radiation (EMF or EMR).  I’ve tested a couple and a colleague has also tested a few, and all I can say is “if they’re pretty, keep them” because honestly, they don’t work well enough (that I’ve tested).

So, how do these work?

They’re very easy.  The actual sock is made up of the mesh that is used for blocking Radio Frequency (RF) or mobile phone radiation in curtains and such.  They outside is a suede-type fabric which can be either black or burgundy.

You put the phone into the pocket on one side of the sock, and when you’re carrying it, or using it, the cloth is shielding you from the radio frequency.

The idea is that the radio frequency can’t come through the sock, but sound can travel through it.

The sock is made up of a special mesh of precious metals, which blocks 96% of the mobile phone radiation.  It does block the mobile phone radiation, but sound does travel through the cloth, so you can hold your phone up to your head and not worry as much about frying your brain cells.
